Better careers advice is among the points outlined in a ten-year plan aimed at improving education in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) unveiled its ‘10 Year Strategic Plan (2009-2018)’ yesterday.
Dr Al-Khaili, the Director General of ADEC, said:? “Education is the Government’s number one priority and we are working towards delivering the best possible education to give every student every opportunity to succeed in life.”
As well as careers advice, other targets include improving the quality of schools so that public and private school students perform at the international average standards.
It also aims to preserve the country’s national identity and local culture by enhancing student proficiency in the Arabic language and knowledge of the UAE’s culture and history.
Al-Khaili said key initiatives include developing a comprehensive health and wellness program for all public schools in Abu Dhabi and rolling out a programme of training and development for school principals on effectively leading schools.
