Frontline staff at Dubai International Airport have undergone training on how to accommodate people with disabilities.
The Community Development Authority ran the two-day awareness workshop led by Dr Eman Gaad, the director of Disability Services, who is also an international expert on integration for people with disabilities.
The aim was to promote concepts, facilities and services provided by travel and tourism industry for the physically disadvantaged.
The workshops included general knowledge about the causes of disabilities, understanding of the most common disabilities and ways to approach and treat certain categories of disabilities to ensure equal opportunities and rights among tourists - ten per cent of whom face such difficulties.
