The firm behind a Dubai housing estate at the centre of a spate of cat killings says it will investigate recent reports that residents’ pets have been murdered in the area.
Emaar, developers of The Springs, said it takes safety seriously and will follow up on complaints that domestic cats are being targeted by sick thugs.
In the last six months, four cats have been shot and killed by an air rifle, one was strangled and several others have disappeared.
A spokesman said: “Emaar is investigating the matter. We are committed to the well-being of our residents.”
