A false alarm at a HSBC bank sparked a panic yesterday.

Police rushed to the branch in King Faisal Road and cordoned off the area.

Michael Moore, from HSBC Bank Middle East, said there had been a technical fault with the alarm system. The alert follows two bank robberies in recent months.
