Addressing a function to mark the World Population Day here, the Prime Minister said low GDP growth along with high population growth rates had put Pakistan in a situation where it was hard to provide relief to the common man. He said country’s diverse problems could not be addressed by economic measures alone and there was a need to supplement these through effective measures to check population growth
ISLAMBAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said it is the provinces not the federal government that would decide the future of Local Bodies System, as this issue relates to the provinces. Talking to media on the occasion of inaugural ceremony of Margalla Railway Station, he said the recommendations of the Chief Ministers from all the provinces would be sent to the president, adding PM is not responsible for holding the local bodies election; instead, CMs are to do it.
