Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is leaving for four day visit to Germany and Britain on Monday. During his visit Prime Minister will exchange views on important regional issues with top brass of Germany and Britain.
In first phase, Prime Minister will arrive in Berlin to meet German President Horst Koehler and Chancellor Angela Merkel. On the occasion, enhancement in cooperation between both the countries in economic, investment, trade and defence sectors will come under discussion. Prime Minister Gilani will meet his British counterpart Gordon Brown and Foreign Secretary David Miliband during his visit to Britain.
Earlier, in an interview to a German newspaper, PM Gilani stated that Pakistan has its reservations on America sending more troops in Afghanistan. He also said that ignoring Pakistan in devising an Afghan strategy will result in instability of the region. “The West must agree on a collective strategy to counter Taliban” he added, and stressed that the global community must provide technical assistance to Pakistan . He also said that the world has started to acknowledge the efforts and sacrifices of Pakistan in war against terror.
