More crashes plague Toyota

Japan’s government confirmed yesterday five new accidents involving possible brake malfunction in Toyota’s Prius hybrids.

Company president Akio Toyoda said on Friday that he was “deeply sorry” for the string of quality issues that has tarnished the group’s reputation and triggered a class action lawsuit in the US.
